LNA-3000-S581 Low Noise Amplifier Description
Simplex, Half-Duplex, DAMA and IW signals (TDD) compatible Smart Booster for UHF applications. It substantially improves UHF Satcom downlink signals by an effective 7-15 dB, depending on the transceiver or radio used. It will also enhance LOS (Line of Sight) Simplex and Half-Duplex communications by the same factor above. Custom versions available covering other frequency ranges.
Key features of this LNA
- Small and Lightweight (3.5" x 3.5" x 2" or 9 cm x 9 cm x 5 cm)
- One button and automatic-ON operation
- Self-powered (a 4 hour charge will typically support continuous operation for up to 10 days)
- Auto
Two-mode internal charger (RF Quiet/Voltage tolerant) supports charging
from 5-16 V sources, observes USB-2 charging limits when powered from a
standard USB port
- Built-in solar cell extends operation lifetime
- Compatible with the following accessories:
- Suction Cup Mount (ACC-0002), to attach to non-metal and metal, smooth surfaces
- Magnetic/Mag Mount (ACC-0003-581 or ACC-0001-581), to attach to ferrous metal surfaces
- Bolt-on, AV 2090, 4 hole pattern compatible, direct Vehicle Mount (ACC-0008)
- Standard Camera Tripod
- Make your own bracket - all you need is a 1/4" (6.4 mm) hole
- May be transported on passenger aircraft, or shipped via common carrier without any special UN markings

LNA-3000-S581 Technical Specifications
- Operating Frequencies: 243-320 MHz (Active/Bypass), 360-380 MHz (Bypass only)
- Maximum RF Power: 25 Watts
- Gain:
- Bypass or Passive mode: better than -2 dB
- Active mode: better than +15 dB
- Noise Figure: 2 dB typical
- Nominal Impedance (Radio/Red Connector): 50 Ohms (RF), open circuit (DC) (internally DC protected to 16 VDC)
- Maximum VSWR: <1.5
- Connector Interfaces: SMA, female (Red to Radio/Transceiver, Green to Antenna)
- DC Power requirements: LNA is
powered from its internal, redundant rechargeable batteries, for up to
10 days on a single 4 hour charge

- Battery Charging Modes:
- RF
Quiet mode: 5.0-6.5 VDC @ 400 mA nominal. In this mode, the LNA may be
used without additional charger noise. If LNA is powered continuously
through a Bias-Tee, this is the preferred charge mode.
- Wide Voltage mode: 6.5-16 VDC @
<400 mA (voltage dependent, lower current at higher voltages). This
mode enables LNA to be charged from many possible sources of power.
